Lauren is a contemporary Aboriginal artist based on Awabakal Country Newcastle NSW. 

A creative from a young age Lauren follows the artistic lead of her father Lee Freestone, a proud Wiradjuri man and artist based in Scotts Head NSW on beautiful Gumbaynggirr country where Lauren was born and raised.

Although following in her father's footsteps, she has developed her own contemporary style while staying connected to her family and story. As a proud Wiradjuri descendant she draws inspiration from her great grandparents country as well as saltwater country of Gumbaynggirr where she grew up.

Lauren uses an earthy colour palette alongside a blend of different mediums to creatively capture the textures and colours of Country she feels deeply connected to.
